Buff-breasted Sandpiper

Six Buff-breasted Sandpipers were found today at Loop Head.  I managed to get there this evening to photograph five of these Trans-Atlantic waders, as they fed on Crane flies in the low grasses of the Fodry on Loop Head.  These birds have made a long migration of over 3,000 km from breeding grounds in arctic Canada.
